What is SkinPen?
SkinPen by Crown Aesthetics is the first FDA-cleared microneedling device in the world, clinically proven to safely and effectively fighting the appearance of neck wrinkles and facial acne scars for ages 22 and up. SkinPen is made in the USA and is rigorously tested for safety.
In Australia, SkinPen is a class IIa medical device included on the ARTG indicated to treat acne scarring, surgical scars and fine lines and wrinkles.

What can SkinPen help with?
SkinPen is indicated to treat acne scarring, surgical scars, fine lines and wrinkles on the face and neck, stretch marks, enlarged pores and pigmentation conditions (dyschromia).
How does it work?
SkinPen creates hundreds to thousands of “micro” skin punctures per second to stimulate the skin’s natural wound healing process – inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling – to prompt tissue remodeling without causing scar tissue formation. Most patients can return to normal activities within 24 hours.

Is SkinPen safe?

Who should not use SkinPen?
SkinPen should not be used on patients who have active skin cancer in the treatment area(s); open wounds, sores, or irritated skin in the treatment area(s); an allergy to stainless steel or anesthetics; a bleeding disorder or bleeding dysfunction; are pregnant or nursing; or are currently taking drugs with the ingredient isotretinoin (such as Roaccutane). What is the SkinPen post treatment care?
It is important to keep your skin well hydrated after the SkinPen procedure. Keeping your skin well-hydrated after your SkinPen procedure is essential. Microneedling temporarily increases water loss from the skin, so maintaining hydration and protection supports a smooth, comfortable recovery.
To optimise healing and treatment outcomes, we’ve curated a Signature Post-Treatment Pack (included with every course of treatment) for use during the first five days. This carefully selected set of products provides:
Deep hydration and barrier protection
Soothing relief to reduce redness and itchiness
Growth factor support to promote healing
High SPF protection (from Day 2 onwards)
First 24 Hours:
• Do not apply any products, including cleansers. Only use the products provided in your pack if specifically advised.
• Avoid all sun exposure, as sunscreen cannot be applied yet.
After 24 Hours:
• You may gently cleanse your skin using a mild, non-active cleanser.
• Begin applying the recommended post-treatment products to hydrate, soothe, and protect your skin.
• Sunscreen use may resume.
First 72 Hours:
• Avoid strenuous exercise or heavy sweating to prevent irritation.
• Continue to minimise sun exposure.
First 5 Days:
• Avoid active skincare (e.g. retinoids, vitamin C, exfoliants) to reduce the risk of irritation.
• Once your skin feels calm and no longer sensitive, you may gradually resume your pre-treatment routine.
Tip: When restarting actives, ease in, e.g. use retinol every second night for the first week before returning to daily use.
